ABOUT

THE LA CROSSE AREA
FAMILY YMCA

Since 1883, when the very first YMCA of La Crosse Co. opened, they have been prominent figures in the community. They build safe and positive outlets for members to better their physical and mental health. EMG has been lucky to work alongside the La Crosse Area Family YMCA for many years on a variety of different projects. Most recently, EMG was selected to create its “Dinner Table Resilience” app. The app is designed to help bring mental health resources to its users conveniently and efficiently

PROJECT

RESILIENCE APP

Users can download the app for information on how to best build resilience. The app is full of helpful videos, tips, skills, and tactics for fostering resilience in ourselves and others. Resilience is vital to our mental health. It helps us adapt and manage our feelings and emotions in adverse situations. It is essential to our mental wellbeing. Similar to a muscle, resilience grows stronger with practice. It increases via healthy relationships, self-care, and asking for help when we need it.

PROJECT

LIVESTRONG® PROMO

Through this program, the Y connects with cancer survivors using a strategy that emphasizes the full person—mind and body.

Participants in the YMCA's LIVESTRONG® program work with qualified staff to increase flexibility, muscle mass, and strength. The program also aims to improve participants' functional capacity and cardiovascular endurance. The program emphasizes not only the physical advantages but also the survivors' and their families' emotional and mental wellbeing.

People afflicted by cancer can connect through this program's supportive community atmosphere both during and after treatment. The main goal of mental health groups is to teach and practice skills that will both build a solid foundation for participants' mental health and support them in times of need. These groups' discussions follow the Dinner Table Resilience Series' themes.

Elevate has produced two LIVESTRONG videos for the YMCA and won a Telly Award for its first video in 2017.

PROJECT

MAPLE LEAF RUN - PROMO

Elevate had the privilege to promote the Y's 23rd Annual Maple Leaf Walk Run. The Y provides both an in-person event and a virtual alternative so that you can join us however you feel most comfortable.

This 30s promo ran on social media and TV to increase awareness and event registrations. Elevate captured content along the route using its 6K camera and drone. Smith's Bike Shop was generous enough to lend us a slick electric bike to zip around on. It was only possible to cover such a large portion of the route because of that bike.

The Maple Leaf Walk Run includes a half marathon, 5 Mile, and 5K events that begin and end in lovely Riverside Park and pass along a portion of the famous Oktoberfest parade route.

PROJECT

YMCA COMMUNITY YOUTH CENTER PROMO

By developing a paradigm that incorporates mental health awareness, literacy, and self-advocacy, the Y's Community Youth Center has benefited adolescent mental health. This is reflected in every facet of our society, culture, and adult behaviors. For instance, the Y has developed a physical setting that is welcoming to youth, safe, predictable, and full of visual cues and information about the value of caring for one's mental health.

The adult practices include educating our staff on how to spot regular adolescent growth milestones and warning indicators, how to address these issues successfully, and how to refer adolescents appropriately when their needs fall outside our purview.

The Y believes every young person can succeed, and they must give them a chance. The Center offers young people a place to feel like they belong, which improves their mental health.

For young people aged 10 to 18, the Community Youth Center provides a secure, drug-, alcohol-, and tobacco-free drop-in location. The Center provides free programs that appeal to young people, are engaging, and make use of their skills, dynamism, and creativity. The Center provides chances for skill development and recreation, and it is staffed by amiable, supportive adults who have received training in working with teenagers.

WHY

THE LA CROSSE AREA YMCA SELECTED EMG

The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is committed to strengthening communities by improving the health and well-being of its members. The YMCA looked to Elevate to raise the production quality of their marketing videos. Having worked with Elevate since (almost) the start, we are honored to consider the YMCA a legacy client. It’s hard to imagine another organization that helps so many in our community. We are humbled to provide the Y with videos and other promotional materials year after year. Elevate Media Group is excited to continue to promote the Y’s in-person and virtual opportunities to improve all facets of health. This includes virtual workout classes, mental health resources, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, and the Dinner Table Resilience app.

Since 2017, EMG has produced content ranging from promotional videos for the Y’s LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, Maple Leaf Run, Summer Sports Program, and Summer Food Programs. Elevate has also been fortunate to produce the new mental health app, as well as capture photography for promotional items. Elevate has assisted the YMCA with event support, drone video, and photography.
