ABOUT

LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS

In last year’s presidential election, Americans voted in record numbers, casting nearly 158.4 million ballots. According to a preliminary Pew Research Center report, this equates to nearly two-thirds of estimated registered voters and more than six out of ten people of voting age.  According to these metrics, voter turnout was at its highest level since at least 1980, the first year we looked at, and probably even longer.

The right to vote is one of our country’s greatest freedoms. But with great freedom comes great responsibility, which is where the League of Women Voters (LWV) comes in. The team over at LVW knew they wanted a creative yet informative social media campaign, and Elevate was there to help. The LWV partnered with La Crosse County and the Driftless Voter Coalition to produce marketing materials in the lead-up to the 2020 elections.  LWV knew that one of the most effective avenues to reach and engage with a larger audience would be through social media. More specifically, LWV was interested in creating a set of educational, eye-catching, and versatile graphics that would be used to help share upcoming and relevant voter information through the community.

The League of Women Voters of the La Crosse Area received a grant and knew what message we wanted to put out, but we didn’t know how. We worked with Steve, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and unfailingly patient with us. We love the images and videos that he created with us, and we continue to use them on our website, our social media, and our print materials. Working with Elevate is a terrific experience!

GET OUT THE VOTE
TV COMMERCIAL

In the United States, it is estimated that only 60% of eligible citizens vote in presidential elections. This means that 40% of people who could be voting are not. Researchers have been trying to understand why this is and how to get more people to vote. A recent study shows that one of the most effective ways to convince non-voters to vote is to show them that their neighbors are voters. During the height of COVID, Elevate leaned into animation to convey topics such as voting that would otherwise open participants up to potential exposure.

BILLBOARDS

A well-designed political billboard can be an effective way to reach voters and communicate a candidate’s message. Billboards are often located in high-traffic areas, so they have the potential to reach a large audience. They can also be designed to target specific groups of voters. For example, a billboard that features a photo of a candidate with children may be especially effective in reaching voters who are parents. In the case of the LWV, Elevate looked to produce four billboards that reached a wide array of potential voters.

To be successful, billboard placement is a strategic endeavor that needs to be well thought out. Location is key to ensure that the target audience will see it. Placing a billboard in an area with a lot of foot traffic or vehicular traffic will increase the likelihood that people will view it. The size and angle of the billboard are also important factors to consider. If a billboard is too small or placed too high, then people are less likely to notice it.

GET OUT THE VOTE
RADIO SPOT

When Marine Credit Union rolled out its new mobile app, Elevate produced a series of animated videos. Each video provided viewers with a clean and straightforward guide for navigating its modern interface. The videos covered topics such as widgets, Face ID, setting savings goals, how to track spending habits, and depositing checks over your phone.
